Upgrade & License Related Issues
"SpeedBase does not accept my license key.
I have an active support/upgrade service term or subscription."
If you know that you have an ongoing support/upgrade term, the most likely reason is that you have used an older license key
which you have received with an older purchase or subscription renewal. Check your emails to find out the most recent license email you
have received within one year atmost. Once found, check the support expiration date given on top of that email and make sure that the date
is a future date. You may then use the license key given on that email and disregard any other (older) license key you have saved elsewhere.
If the date is a past date, check your spam folder via the web interface of your email service provider to find the most recent license email.
Contact us if the issue does not resolve.
"SpeedBase does not accept my license key.
My support/upgrade term has expired."
Beware that you will not be eligible to install/upgrade to any newer version of SpeedBase which was released after the expiration date
of your support term. You would have two options in that case:
- Purchase annual support/upgrade subscription: You will then receive an updated license key which
you may use to immediately install/upgrade to the latest version available. The license key will also allow you to upgrade to any
other newer version released throughout one year following your purchase. You may at any time cancel your subscription renewal and continue
with the version you have received sofar. We do however highly recommend keeping your subscription active for the benefits of discounted renewal rate,
receiving new feature/bugfix updates and support service.
- Install Older Version: If you are not willing to purchase support, you may install either the same version as you were runnning before or the latest version
that was released before the expiration date of your support term.
To determine the expiration date of your support term, check the most recent license mail which you have received following your product purchase
or latest subscription renewal.
To install the correct version, open Upgrade page and download the latest version which has a release date
no later than the expiration date of your support term.
You may check Upgrade Policy to understand how upgrade eligibility works.
Contact us if you have questions about purchasing support subscription
or you are unable to determine the right version you should install.
"I have lost my license key. How can I recover?"
You may request license recovery
in case you are unable to locate your most recent license key.
"I have an active support subscription/support term but I'm getting a message that tells my support term has expired."
SpeedBase determines your support term from the license key you have entered into the registration window.
If you have received an updated license key following your support subscription renewal but did not enter the key to the software,
you may receive such a reminder. While running SpeedBase with an older license key does not do any harm, you are recommended to enter
your new license key into the SpeedBase registration window as soon as you receive a license update to ensure a smooth upgrade process
whenever you install a newer version.
"What should I do when I receive a new license key?"
You will receive an updated license key via email when;
- your annual support subscription is auto-renewed,
- you purchase an upgrade from a single user to a multiuser license,
- your 12 months license subcription is completed.
You are recommended to enter your new license key into the SpeedBase registration window as soon as you receive a license update
to ensure a smooth upgrade process whenever you install a newer version.
If you have forgotten to enter the latest license key into SpeedBase, just enter it either before or after installing a newer version
and at the time you are asked to enter a new license key.
"I'm unable to complete the upgrade/install process."
If you have received an error saying "database folder not writable" during upgrade, an antivirus or security software might be blocking
the new version you have just downloaded. Try temporarily disabling Windows Defender or other antivirus software to resolve this issue.
